Splendid Spoon and Pressed Juicery are two places where you can get some amazing smoothies. You can enjoy them as refreshments or they can substitute snacks and meals. They both have a lot to offer, including soups, sippable resets, and grain bowls from Splendid Spoon and vegan ice cream from Pressed Juicery. Our focus, however, is smoothies and only smoothies.

Splendid Spoon smoothies for on-the-go kind of people
Let’s start with Splendid Spoon. Their business model is delivery box plan with over 40 options of meals that are plant-based, high in fiber, vegan, and gluten-free. Their smoothies are made of veggies, fruit, and superfoods.
All of them require no preparation and are very low on sugar. Their meals are delivered in recyclable package, but very well insulated, so expect them cold. We loved the fact that smoothies were ready-to-eat and always took them on-the-go.
Over 20 flavors of smoothies from Splendid Spoon
The boxes are not cheap, but they do offer a great healthy alternative for busy people who tend to reach to the most convenient and usually unhealthy foods.
Busy life can also be healthy with Splendid Spoon
Splendid Spoon is also a philosophy that centers on healthy and balanced food and mindful living, listening to one’s body and its needs.
Perfect refreshments from Splendid Spoon
Since we were on smoothie plan, we went about our day with smoothies. They come in many different flavors and can be had just as they are or blended with your home-made smoothies or just ice for a bit of frostiness. We enjoyed them all with just a bit of ice.
The flavors we tried are Plant-Based Probiotic, AB&J, Green Matcha, Chocolate Cherry, and Blueberry Basil.
Healthy breakfasts delivered by Splendid Spoon
Let’s talk about each one:
Plant-Based Probiotic
This combination of flavors was very unusual, but definitely good and filling. The bananas, coconut oil, and pea protein gave us energy and all the needed fiber while almonds, flax seeds, and lemon juice provide for gentle yet “kicky” taste.
Plant-based and probiotic – what can be better?
AB&J
This one was probably a taste winner with its bananas, strawberries, and almond butter. The flavor was definitely nutty and tart with a few undertones of wheat bread as if we were enjoying a PB&J sandwich. It also kept us full for a long time.

Green Matcha
This unusual combination of flavors is definitely for those of us who are not afraid to experiment with blending different ingredients.
Grab Splendid Spoon smoothie and enjoy your day
The smoothie is made of bananas, avocado, lemon juice, date puree, hemp protein, vanilla powder, matcha powder, and spirulina. All the ingredients give the smoothie its green color and tangy taste from the lemon and hemp protein.

Chocolate Cherry
Love for Splendid Spoon discounts is in the air
This sounds like desert and rightfully so. It has bananas, cherry juice, almond butter, coconut nectar, cacao nibs, pea protein, vanilla powder, and Himalayan salt. Salt and sweet flavors mix wonderfully together without it being too sweet.
Good vibes from nature to Splendid Spoon
This smoothie is rich enough to substitute a meal.

Blackberry Basil
Now this is a really unusual combination, but the taste surprised us in a good way. The basil flavor is not overwhelming; it actually balances berry undertones and makes it rather refreshing. The smoothies include bananas, blackberries, pea protein, basil, lemon juice, vanilla powder, dates, chia seeds, and Himalayan salt. Pea protein gives energy while chia seeds provide fiber to keep us feeling full.
In conclusion, we loved the smoothies from Splendid Spoon because they were no fuss, healthy, easy, and really put us on the right track of healthy mindful eating. After our test run we are planning to order more in the future, even if it’s not cheap at around $50 per week for just breakfast smoothies and optional lunch bowls. The convenience factor was big too.
Soups and smoothies from Splendid Spoon
Our second test was for Pressed Juicery and their smoothie cleanse. We decided to go cold turkey on our regular diet and signed up for 3-day cleanse program when we drank only smoothies for 3 days.
Pressed Juicery smoothie collection
We loved the fact that the company is LA-based, local, vegan, delivers anywhere (home or office), you can pick up your order if you feel like it, and choose between many different plans and flavors, depending on your purpose.
Made fresh at Pressed Juicery
We went with the 1st level and were very happy to discover that all bottles are labeled and numbered in our first order, so we can understand what comes when. This level was advertised for newbies and athletes with higher food intake needs.
You choose your flavors from Pressed Juicery
It’s up to consumers to decide what bottle to drink and when. You can have less in the morning and save more for dinner or split them equally, it really depends on your hunger patterns. Our tip – drink when you feel hungry and hungry you will feel. Each day includes 6 bottles and extra 2 – chlorophyll and aloe for hydration. Those two are not very tasty, but definitely good for you. In addition to all that Pressed Juicery recommends 8 glasses of water per day.
The flavors we tried are:
- Daily vanilla almond (filling)
- Greens 2 (greens and superfoods)
- Roots 2 (veggies)
- Citrus 2 (orange and lemon flavors)
- Greens 3 (leafy greens)
- Chocolate Almond (filling instead of dinner)
Healthy benefits come in different forms at Pressed Juicery
The second day was the hardest for us as we felt hungry and hangry. We were not fans on the green smoothie we had ordered and also wanted to change the plain almond milk drink to chocolate milk and the company did it for us without any questions. This will not happened very often as most deliveries won’t change anything post-factum.
Fresh garnish from Pressed Juicery
One of the flavors we really liked was Chocolate almond milk, made of chocolate, almonds, dates, cacao, and filtered water.
Ice cream can also be good for you
We found the list of ingredients simpler and less detailed than Splendid Spoon. But overall, the quality of smoothies was very comparable between the two companies. We also have to admit that we felt good after trying both smoothie diets, but not quite sure if our bodies really experienced that reset. We definitely payed more attention to what we were eating partially because of hunger and also because we cared more.
5 for $25 is a perfect deal from Pressed Juicery
Pressed Juicery also has a few cafes all over LA, and we have enjoyed vegan freezes with decadent toppings, vanilla almond gummy bears, and extra veggie juices, such as celery cleanse. The store had some specials, like 5 for $25 smoothies and freezes. We also saw that Pressed Juicery offers rewards program for collecting points, exclusive offers, free products, birthday gifts, and many other perks.
Healthy gummy bears from Pressed Juicery
If you don’t have Pressed Juicery near you, buy Gummy Bear Cleanse from Pressed Juicery. This stuff is amazing! Pressed Juicery Gummy Bear Cleanse is sold in Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom.
Pineapple and lemon gummy bears from Pressed Juicery
Did you know that you can buy Pressed Juicery cold pressed juices at your local Vons, Safeway or Pavillions? They also sell Wellness Shots. This stuff is so good, you should definitely give it a try.
Healthy shots are just $3.99 at Pressed Juicery
All in all, Pressed Juicery and Splendid Spoon had very similar smoothies and the way they affected our bodies and our hunger, but we gave Pressed Juicery points for being local and for having cafes with extra tasty frozen treats. One thing we learned from both test is that it takes some preparation to go on strictly liquid diet, but it definitely does your body good.
