Those two boxes are both my favorites. I have tried quite a few beauty subscription boxes and these two always stand out. FabFitFun is my first and is responsible for my current obsessions with everything subscription. CauseBox brings so many natural and sustainable products that it made the bar very high for all others.

Both of those boxes are seasonal and I pay for them as I go, so the service they provide is comparable oranges to oranges. They cost almost the same – FabFitFun is $49.95 and CauseBox in $54.95. You can save a few dollars by purchasing a yearly subscription, but I enjoy being free from contracts and will continue on pay-per-box basis.

Both boxes bring 6-8 full size items that range from beauty, makeup, skin care, hair products, home décor, fashion, and fitness. FabFitFun specializes in the trendiest brands that are established or new, but always fashionable. CauseBox focuses on natural things that are often made by artisans, support charities, or are simply items that help us be more environmentally cautious.

If I had to say which summer box I liked more, it would have to be CauseBox this time. Two products there were kitchenware with sustainability in mind, more than one item was organic, and absolutely all items will be used up by me.

FabFitFun was almost exclusively about beauty routine, which is usually fine. This time, when compared with CauseBox, I really wanted to see more organic ingredients.

Finally, out of two non-beauty items one doesn’t work for me, so I was a little disappointed. But let’s look at everything closer:

FabFitFun

• Business & Pleasure Co. Cooler Bag ($59) – this yellow/white canvas insulated bag is perfect for a stylish beach or pool outing. I will also take it along to park playdates when those become more common.

• Terre Mere Aloe and Tea Tree Toner ($54) – it can never be too many toners, especially in summer, when your face craves refreshment all the time. I love the understated smell of this one.

• Yumi Kim Wireless Charging Pad ($35) – this is the one item that doesn’t work for me, who is still hanging on to her iPhone 7. The new phone is in the cards for this fall though, so I hope I can use this cute pad then.

• The Lyfestyle Co. Beach Mist ($42) – You can spritz this refreshing lavender, aloe, and mint spritz all day long and always feel refreshed.

• Coola Mineral Face Organic Matte Finish Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 ($36) – the sunscreen is 70% organic, which is better than nothing. It gets absorbed right away and leaves skin smooth and matte.

• MakeupDrop Hybrid Makeup Applicator ($20) – I will try this next time there is a party to go to and in the meantime I will just admire how tasty it looks. This item won’t be used very often by me though as I don’t like too much makeup.

• Cali Cosmetics Foot Cream with Menthol in Tarocco ($24) – foot cream by the bed is always a good idea. I spend all day barefoot around the house and backyard, so a little pampering is always due before bed.

• Riddle Oil Original Roll On ($50) – it’s not strong and made to mix with natural body scent beautifully creating a unique fragrance. I will have it in my purse wherever I go from now on.

CauseBox

• PMD Beauty cleaner ($99) – the motorized cordless face massager/cleaner is amazing. It comes with a battery included and works miracles. I use it for face cleaning in the shower and lotion massages every day.

• Grace & Stella Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($25) – This serum smells very pleasantly and contains hyaluronic acid, which is very much desired for my eye area. I use it a few times per day and love how it makes my skin feel tight and elastic.

• Doctor Rogers Restore Healing Balm ($30) – perfect for my suntanned dry lips and for all my son’s scrapes after he trips and falls about every other day. It has no smell, taste, color, or shine, so you can use it anywhere anytime.

• Feya Candle Co. Reed Diffuser in White Tea & Ginger ($35) – this diffuser has very pleasant and gentle smell. It’s perfect for a bathroom, kitchen, or any other room. I put it on my work desk for inspirational thoughts. Proceeds from it go to feeding the needy.

• Savhera Essential Oil Roll-On (set of 2) ($30) – one of those oils is for morning energy and another is for evening relaxation, and I love them both. They are made in India by sex trafficking survivors, if you want to feel even better about using them.

• Pepper + Vetiver Set of 3 Nesting Bowls ($36) – this set is very handy for salads, snacks, dips, and olives. The bowls are heavy, luxurious, and made by LA-based artist Erin Wolf.

• Altcooking Hub Set of 6 silicone stretch lids ($8) – these 6 lids do all the work of plastic lids and cling wraps flawlessly. They are very much in line with environmental responsibility and help us use less plastic.

After looking back at both boxes, I admit that I love them both almost equally. Yes, CauseBox wins by just a small margin, but FabFitFun is always awesome too!
