BarkBox Information and Savings
What is BarkBox?
BarkBox is literally a box to make your dog very happy every month. This subscription service is inclusive, customizable, and perfect for making your life easier.
You don’t have to run to the store every time your dog kills that new toy you just bought – the BarkBox is coming and there will be toys. Besides toys and Instagram worthy props, your dog will definitely like the fact that treats are also included, and so are great chews.
Hundreds of thousands of dogs are eagerly waiting for that delivery guy at their door every month in U.S. and Canada.
All edible treats and food that comes in BarkBox are wheat, soy, corn, and filler free. You also don’t have to worry about artificial flavors, artificial colors, preservatives, and other harmful ingredients. BarkBox loves dogs and delivers only the best stuff, responsibly.
How does the company decide on what treats and toys to include, you might ask? There is a different theme every month and everything in the box is related to that theme. We are not sure about dogs, but their people really love those themes. We have seen back-to-school, skiing vacation, pumpkin time, spaceships, dinosaurs, Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine’s Day themes with the cutest toys to help dogs and people celebrate the season, whatever it is.
What comes in each box?
Every box consists of 2 toys, 2 bags of all natural treats, and 1 chew. Most of those items are hard to find somewhere else, because BarkBox curates their menu very carefully and spotlights small local companies. They pay extra attention to quality, message, and ingredients. This is a perfect way to learn about some non-mass production stuff that otherwise we simply would not have a way to ever learn about. Many toys are designed by their own in-house designers and tested by office dogs.
When do boxes ship every month?
The boxes ship around the middle of the month and take about 2-8 business days to reach your pups. Canadian dogs have to wait a little longer – 4-12 business days.
How much does it cost?
Regular price is $21 per month. If you have a dog that is large and has very strong teeth or destroys toys right away, consider getting Super Chew BarkBox, which is $39 and more if you want to customize it even further. Supper Chew plan is great because if your dog destroys even those extra sturdy toys, you will be sent new ones, completely free.
Can the plan be updated or changed in the middle of commitment?
Yes, BarkBox is very flexible and putting you into some stringent arrangement is not their goal. You can change your shipping address, the plan size, customization options, allergy needs, assortment of items delivered, and toy styles any time.
What is BarkBox cancellation policy?
The plans are for 3, 6, and 12 months. Once you sign up for one of these plans, you can’t cancel them early. However, if there are some issues that are making you want to cancel, you can always contact the customer service and they will make it right. All subscription plans automatically review at the end of their period, but you can stop that by logging into your account in advance and selecting an option to not renew.
How safe are the toys?
The company pledges to never send anything that they wouldn’t give to their own dogs. In other words, the toys are just as safe as if you would buy them from any pet supply store or Amazon. Yes, some toys will be ripped and little parts digested, but that’s OK, because they are designed in-house and made of safe materials.
All the treats are made in U.S. and carefully selected.
That being said, you should always supervise your dog when he is playing and chewing. Ripped toys or chewed up toys should be thrown away. And no worries, new ones are on the way every month!
